About Adam Louis Sebastian Lehodey

ADAM LOUIS SEBASTIAN LEHODEY is a lover of adventure, a lover of literature, a lover of art and odysseys and friendships; a lover of words and stories and ideas; but most importantly a lover of life itself. That life which is divine in the truest sense of the word.

And so, in recognition of this, I am driven by an intense desire to expand consciousness of the world around me, to enlighten and to capture it in beautiful prose.

As a writer for City Journal, I spend most of my time grappling with the big questions of urban governance, economics and culture in New York City.

Our cities have the potential to generate immense opportunity, abundance and human flourishing. But we must let them, through policies that advance opportunity, mobility and security. Most of my writings center on these core issues as applied to New York and elsewhere.

Beyond that, you might find me gazing up at Manhattan's spirited skyline that never fails to impress, perusing Plato (or Pynchon!) as is apt for a philosophy major, or out and about, probably deep in conversation.

Life is good but it is short. I desire that my writings teach, inspire and invoke new ideas, but I too am always open to learn. Should you wish to reach out to me with a piece idea, request a comment on a topic in which I have expertise, or anything else, please feel free to do so here. Always open to comments, critiques and suggestions.

Yours ever,
